About the Artist

I have the gift of neither the spoken nor the written word, especially if I have to say something about myself or my work. Whoever wants to know something about me – as an artist, the only notable thing – ought to look carefully at my pictures and try and see in them what I am and what I want to do.

Gustav Klimt

JUAN CARLOS BADIA CABERO was born in Honduras from Spanish parents. His family moved to Delray Beach, Florida when he was four.  Juan Carlos has been dedicated and passionate about the arts since he was able to hold a crayon. As a young boy the Arts have allowed him to express his feelings and emotions. From an early start in his education he’s been involved in art classes.  After graduating from Boca Raton High School, he found a passion for painting murals and faux in West Palm Beach.

When he was twenty –one, he moved to Spain, where he enrolled in a two year glass program at the “Fundacion Centro del Vidrio”. While staying in La Granja de San Ildefonso, Juan Carlos was fortunate to work alongside International Glass Artists. Those two years in the glass program, Juan Carlos found that his knowledge with painting, ceramics, sculpturing could allow him to experiment all fields of creative artistic Glass freely. In 2010 he went on to painting small wearable paintings, created on a handmade paper Mache mixture. These paintings, along with his glass bead necklaces were sold in markets and in a small Boutique in Bilbao, Spain. This allowed him in 2013 to embark in a spiritual journey throughout Europe with his sketch book in hand.

After a ten year period living in Europe Juan Carlos returned to Florida. Lately he has been developing his style influence by his travels, his love for nature, interaction with people and his admiration for artist such as Dali, Picasso and Klimt. Nature plays a big part in his work and he is a storyteller through his paintings. Painting has allowed him to experiment with colors, shapes and give a personal creative window through his eyes. Juan Carlos believes that even in strong emotions such as pain, grief and sallow there is beauty within the emotions of feeling.
